CITY OF EVERETT Certificate of Appropriateness for Port Gardner Building WHEREAS, the EMC 2.96.060C(3) requires the Historical Commission to review proposed alterations to buildings on the Everett Register of Historic Places (Everett Register) according to the criteria of the Washington State Advisory Council's Standards for Rehabilitation and Maintenance of Historic Properties; and WHEREAS, the EMC 2.96.060C(3) states that the decision concerning the granting or denial of a Certificate of Appropriateness shall be made by the Mayor(or designee) on the advice of the Historical Commission; and WHEREAS, the Mayor has designated the Planning & Community Development Director as his designee to grant or deny a Certificate of Appropriateness on the advice of the Historical Commission; and WHEREAS, the Port Gardner Building at 2802 Wetmore Avenue is on the Everett Register; and WHEREAS, Ron Jacobs of Berry Sign Systems submitted a request on behalf of FUNKO, building tenant, for review of proposed signage to be installed on the Port Gardner Building; and WHEREAS, the proposed work is described in the plans on file in the Department of Planning and Community Development; and WHEREAS, the Historical Commission reviewed the proposed signage at their meeting on September 27, 2016 and concluded that the proposed work meets the Washington State Advisory Council's Standards for Rehabilitation and Maintenance of Historic Properties. NOW, THEREFORE, the Planning & Community Development Director approves a Certificate of Appropriateness for installation of signage on the Port Gardner Building as proposed in the plans on file in the Department of Planning and Community Development.
