CITY OF EVERETT <br /> Certificate of Appropriateness <br /> for Port Gardner Building <br /> WHEREAS, the EMC 2.96.060C(3) requires the Historical Commission to review <br /> proposed alterations to buildings on the Everett Register of Historic Places (Everett <br /> Register) according to the criteria of the Washington State Advisory Council's Standards <br /> for Rehabilitation and Maintenance of Historic Properties; and <br /> WHEREAS, the EMC 2.96.060C(3) states that the decision concerning the granting or <br /> denial of a Certificate of Appropriateness shall be made by the Mayor(or designee) on <br /> the advice of the Historical Commission; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Mayor has designated the Planning & Community Development Director <br /> as his designee to grant or deny a Certificate of Appropriateness on the advice of the <br /> Historical Commission; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Port Gardner Building at 2802 Wetmore Avenue is on the Everett <br /> Register; and <br /> WHEREAS, Ron Jacobs of Berry Sign Systems submitted a request on behalf of <br /> FUNKO, building tenant, for review of proposed signage to be installed on the Port <br /> Gardner Building; and <br /> WHEREAS, the proposed work is described in the plans on file in the Department of <br /> Planning and Community Development; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Historical Commission reviewed the proposed signage at their meeting <br /> on September 27, 2016 and concluded that the proposed work meets the Washington <br /> State Advisory Council's Standards for Rehabilitation and Maintenance of Historic <br /> Properties. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, the Planning & Community Development Director approves a <br /> Certificate of Appropriateness for installation of signage on the Port Gardner Building as <br /> proposed in the plans on file in the Department of Planning and Community <br /> Development. <br /> Dated this / / `� day of � f ' , 2016 <br /> , <br /> Yjr rt <br /> /� <br /> rl �F Y <br /> Allan Giffen u <br /> Planning & Community Development Director <br />
