Permit applications will be accepted for all of the proposed awning statues excluding the
proposed sky bridge statue. The sky-bridge was created under and in accordance with
Ordinance No.4146 in 1966 and was very specific to a setof approved plans.Since the
proposed Funko statue was not part of the original approved plans,it would not be permitted
without an amendment to Ordinance No. 4146.However,per the Ordinance, the rights,
privileges, and authority of the sky-bridge is terminated after 50 years and requires either
removal of the structure or renewal and/or rewriting of the Ordinance to keep the structure.
This Ordinance expired in May 2016.With Funko taking ownership of the building,a new
Ordinance will have to be put in place to keep the sky-bridge structure and reinstate
appropriate rights and privileges over the structure. As part of the creation of this new
Ordinance, the statue proposal on top of the sky-bridge can be incorporated into the
associated plans so long as it does not interfere with traffic devices. Once anew Ordinance is
in place and the language of theordinance permits installation of the proposed statues, the
appropriate construction permits can be applied for at Everett Permit Services. Please contact
the City's Real Property Department to initiate the new Ordinance process(Mike Palacios,
Real Property Manager:425-257-8938 or MPalacios@everettwa.gov).
Building Department Comments—Tony Lee—425,257.8812
1.
