INTRODUCTION
This report presents the results of GeoEngineers' geotechnical engineering services for the proposed
parking lot and utility work located along the west and northwest corner of the Central Utility Plant(CUP)on
the Providence Regional Medical Center Everett campus in Everett, Washington.The site is rectangular in
shape and is bounded by private property to the north, an alley to the east, 13th Street to the south, and
Providence Regional Cancer Partnership to the west. The site is shown relative to surrounding physical
features on the Vicinity Map(Figure 1)and the Site Plan (Figure 2).
The purpose of this report is to provide geotechnical engineering conclusions and recommendations for the
design and construction of the planned development. The site consists of one Snohomish County parcel
(parcel number 0660001510)and covers approximately 9 acres.GeoEngineers'geotechnical engineering
services have been completed in general accordance with our services agreement executed on
April 7, 2016.Our scope of work includes:
■ reviewing existing subsurface information available for the site and surrounding area;
▪ providing recommendations for seismic design in accordance with the 2012 International Building
Code(IBC);
• providing recommendations for earthwork;
■ providing recommendations for design of the below grade detention vault;
■ provide recommendations for pavement design;and
■ preparing this report.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Our project understanding is based on information provided in an email dated February 18, 2016 and a
preliminary site plan provided by ZGF (project architect) and discussions with Carly McArdle with
Magnusson Klemencic Associates(project civil engineer).The project will consist of a new surface parking
lot to the west and northwest corner of the CUP building. Additionally, a storm water detention vault is
planned along with associated utilities.
PREVIOUS SITE EVALUATIONS
We reviewed the logs of selected explorations from previous site evaluations in the project vicinity.The logs
of explorations from previous projects referenced for this study are presented in the Appendix A. The
existing subsurface information includes:
■ the logs of nine test pits(TP-1 through TP-9) completed by GeoEngineers in 2012 for the CUP Parking
Lot project;
■ the logs of 10 borings (GEI-1 through GEI-4, GEI-5a, GEI-5b, and GEI-6 through GEI-9) completed by
GeoEngineers in 2007 and 2008 for the CUP project;
GEOENGINEERS_Os April 22.2016 Page 1
;a>>s o.o-o:
