ii___.. EVERETT
WASHINGTON
City of Everett Human Needs Grant
January 1, 2019 through December 31, 2019
Exhibit A
Program Summary
Organization&Program: American Red Cross: Local Disaster Relief
Our Disaster Relief efforts meet our clients' emergency-related needs for shelter, food and clothing, immediately
and equitably. Volunteer caseworks are able to assist with the aforementioned items,as well as prescription
medication and eyeglass replacement on a case-by-case basis. The first object is to ensure that the affected residents
have access to shelter, food and clothing immediately following a disaster. For an affected family, that might mean
funding for three nights in a hotel and funding for food and clothing. We also can provide them with referrals to
partner agencies. For larger events(large apartment complexes)we may open a shelter with food provided and
provide our clients with funding and referrals for clothing. Our volunteer caseworkers are empowered to work with
other agencies to help our clients develop long-term solutions including housing.
2019 Human Needs Contract Page 7
