• . , 's -a <br /> ORDINANCE NO. a0 <br /> AN ORDINANCE establishing the official meeting <br /> dates and hours of the C ty Council of the City <br /> of Everett and repealing Everett City Code <br /> 1 Chapter 1. 08. 010 - 1. 08. 060 and declarin <br /> an emergency to exist. (Repealing Ord. 1-48 <br /> 2 and Ord. 178-72) <br /> 3 NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> 4 Section 1: The City Council of the City of Everett shall have its <br /> 5 regular meeting for the transaction of all business of the Council, including • <br /> 6 but not limited to the adoption of all resolutions and ordinances on Wednesday <br /> 7 of each and every week between the hours of 8:00 a. m. and 11:59 p. m. <br /> 8 If Wednesday shall fall on a legal holiday, then the Council shall meet on <br /> 9 the following day to transact business. On the following week, the Council <br /> 10 shall meet on Thursday in addition to the regular Wednesday meeting to <br /> 11 consider only ordinances and resolutions originally presented at the previous <br /> 12 Thursday meeting. If there is no business to consider, the meeting shall <br /> 13 not be held. <br /> 14 The aforementioned meetings of the City Council may be recessed or <br /> 15 adjourned from time to time as deemed expedient or desirable in order <br /> 16 to properly transact the business of the City of Everett. <br /> 17 Section 2: All meetings of the City Council of the City of Everett <br /> 18 shall be held in the City Hall in Everett, Washington, provided that such <br /> 19 meetings may be held at different times and elsewhere upon designation <br /> 20 of a specific meeting time and place by the president or president pro tem <br /> 21 of the City Council, and notification thereof being given at least twenty-four <br /> 22 hours in advance to each member of the City Council, to the Mayor, to each <br /> 23 local newspaper of general circulation, and to each local radio and television <br /> 24 station which has on file with the City of Everett a written request to be <br /> 25 notified of such meetings. <br /> 26 Section 3: The Council secretary is authorized on behalf of the <br /> 27 president of the Council to inform the public and the news media of any <br /> 28 informational and briefing sessions at times other than as specified herein. <br /> 29 Section 4; Nothing herein shall preclude the City Council from <br /> 30 holding executive sessions from which the public is excluded for deliberations <br /> 31 and determinations on matters affecting national security, the selection <br /> 32 of a site or the purchase of real estate when publicity regarding such <br />
