4-4°' <br /> r V � <br /> ORDINANCE NO. /961 -) i- <br /> AN ORDINANCE establishing general requirementsfor <br /> home occupations under the zoning code of the <br /> City of Everett and amending Section 3(B)(23) of <br /> Ordinance No. 3572, as amended by Section 1(B)(23) <br /> of Ordinance 3826 (E. C. C. 15. 04. 030 (B)(23) <br /> THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> Section 1: That Section 3(B)(23) of Ordinance 3572, as amended <br /> by Section 1(B)(23) of Ordinance 3826 (E. C. C. 15. 04. 030 (B)(23)), is hereby <br /> amended as follows: <br /> "Home Occupation: An occupation conducted on the premises of a <br /> dwelling unit or associated structures by the occupant(s). <br /> Section 2: Home occupations may be permitted in any residential <br /> zone providing that the following general requirements are met. If one of the <br /> general requirements conflicts with other legal requirements regarding a <br /> particular home occupation) the requirement may be waived so long as the home <br /> occupation does not alter the residential character of the premises. <br /> A. General Requirements <br /> 1. No noise, dust, smoke, glare or other nuisances <br /> shall be emitted other than is commonly associated <br /> with residential living. <br /> 2. No products shall be sold or displayed on the premises. <br /> 3. No receipt or distribution of products shall be permitted <br /> except as is commonly anticipated in residential areas, <br /> it being the intent of this section to prohibit excessive <br /> truck traffic on residential, non-arterial streets. <br /> 4. No person other than the occupant of the dwelling <br /> shall be employed on the premises. <br /> 5. No more than 1/4 of the total floor area of the dwelling <br /> shall be used for the occupation. <br /> 6. Access to the work space shall be from within the <br /> structure and not directly to the outside. <br /> 7. No sign advertising the Home Occupation shall be <br /> permitted in an R-S, R-1, or R-2 Single Family Residential <br /> District. <br /> 8. A sign not to exceed two square feet in area, unlighted <br /> and placed flat against the dwelling structure shall be <br /> permitted for each Home Occupation in an R-3 or R-4 District. <br /> B. Home Occupations Classified <br /> The applicability of this section to a particular use shall be <br /> determined by the Building Official. <br /> In making this determination the Building Official shall consider <br /> the following: <br />
