C. C. 15. 04. 030 (B)(23) THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: Section 1: That Section 3(B)(23) of Ordinance 3572, as amended by Section 1(B)(23) of Ordinance 3826 (E. C. C. 15. 04. 030 (B)(23)), is hereby amended as follows: "Home Occupation: An occupation conducted on the premises of a dwelling unit or associated structures by the occupant(s). Section 2: Home occupations may be permitted in any residential zone providing that the following general requirements are met. If one of the general requirements conflicts with other legal requirements regarding a particular home occupation) the requirement may be waived so long as the home occupation does not alter the residential character of the premises. A. General Requirements 1. No noise, dust, smoke, glare or other nuisances shall be emitted other than is commonly associated with residential living. 2. No products shall be sold or displayed on the premises. 3. No receipt or distribution of products shall be permitted except as is commonly anticipated in residential areas, it being the intent of this section to prohibit excessive truck traffic on residential, non-arterial streets. 4. No person other than the occupant of the dwelling shall be employed on the premises. 5. No more than 1/4 of the total floor area of the dwelling shall be used for the occupation. 6. Access to the work space shall be from within the structure and not directly to the outside. 7. No sign advertising the Home Occupation shall be permitted in an R-S, R-1, or R-2 Single Family Residential District. 8. A sign not to exceed two square feet in area, unlighted and placed flat against the dwelling structure shall be permitted for each Home Occupation in an R-3 or R-4 District. B. Home Occupations Classified The applicability of this section to a particular use shall be determined by the Building Official. In making this determination the Building Official shall consider the following:
