Currently on our repair drawings, we have shown the interior side of the 1-Hour �ssembly to be repaired in accordance with the Gypsum Association's Fire Resistance Design Manual GA File No. 9020. This assembly calls for two 518" thick Type 'X' layers of gypsum wallboard (GWB)on the interior face. (Note: we are removing most o(the interior GWB from the north units.) However, the original construction documents ("Proposed Mini-Storage Building at Smith Avenue, Everett" by Structural �esign and Associates originally dated April 14, 1986 with Revisions dated May 13 and May 23, 1986 � are attached with our permit submittal drawings) call for the north and south exterior walls to be "1-HOUR FIREWALL with 8" Steel Girts with one (1) layer of 518" Type 'X' gypsum attached to each side with screws at 12" o.c.—GA WP45•1HR (F)". It is our understanding that this assembly has been approved by other local municipalities (as reported by the building supplier, CIC). Refer to Sheet 2 of the original construction documents. We are requesting to reinstall the one layer of 518"Type 'X' gypsum wallboard on the interior side of the wall to match the 1-Hour requirements of the original construction documents.
