Teresa Firnstahl
From: Teresa Firnstahl
Sent: Thursday, February 09, 2012 2:27 PM
To: 'michaelp(apacengtech.com'
Subject: Building Permil Review for 3816 Smith Ave-61202-008
Good afternoon Michael,
The Pianning Depa;tment has reviewed the building permit submittal for fire damage at 816 Smith Ave and has the
following comment:
1) The front landscape strip between the building and Smith Avenue will need to be upgraded to meet Type III
landscaping standards. The value of improvements to the buiiding exceed 35%of the assessed market value
therefore landscape improvements are required.Generally speaking, it looks like the landscape area is void of
street trees. A total of 4 trees are required. If the existirg shrubs remain;they can count towards Type III
landscaping but more shrubs may have to be plantea to meet tlie standards.
Submit three copies of a landscape plan to the Permit Counter for review.Type III landscape standards are listed below.
The Planning Department cannot approve the plans un[il this correction is made. Please let me know if you have any
questions and I'll be happy to work with you.
Sincerely,
'Pcresa Pirnslahl
Assislant I'launcr,Cilc of I:ccrcll
3zoo Cedar St 2nd 11
lit•eretl,\MA 9='
Ph qzgs57.728
I q25s57.8H5'7
1.
