permeated the house was NOT from a leaking oil furnace in the <br /> basement as I had supposed, but WAS coming from a leaking <br /> underground heating oil tank that I did not know about before. <br /> The leak was big enough to have migrated from the tank to under the <br /> basement foundation walls and then up past the joint between the <br /> foundation wall and basement floor. The oil has heavily contaminated <br /> the floor and walls of the NE basement room closest to the leaking tank. <br /> As soon as I officially withdrew my offer the selling agent immediately <br /> put it back on the market and then immediately sold it to another buyer <br /> she already had lined up.
