Sections 105.5 and R105.5 of the International Building Code and International Residential Code state that permits become invalid if the work is not commenced or is suspended or abandoned for more than 180 days. Work under your permits will no longer be authorized unless you: 1) Demonstrate continuing progress by requesting inspection of work that has occurred since your last inspection, or 2) Request final inspections of the work that is completed, or 3) Submit a written request for a 180 day extension, detailing justifiable cause for extension. It is your responsibility to ensure that permitted work is properly and safely completed, and that all required inspections are performed. Please contact us by April 8, 2016 to schedule inspections or request extension. After that time the file will be sent to microfilm without final approval. Please note that we will not be sending repeated letters if after further inspections the permit once again reaches expiration. If the permits are allowed to expire and you decide to go ahead with the project in the future, you must apply for and purchase new permits, meeting current Code criteria.
