I <br /> I1 Section 6-01, General Requirements for Structures <br /> 2 January 7, 2019 <br /> I 3 This section is supplemented with the following new subsections: <br /> 4 <br /> 5 6-01.16 Repair of Defective Work <br /> 6 6-01.16(1) General <br /> I 7 When using repair procedures that are described elsewhere in the Contract <br /> 8 Documents, the Working Drawing submittal requirements of this Section shall not <br /> 9 apply to those repairs unless noted otherwise. <br /> I10 <br /> 11 Repair procedures for defective Work shall be submitted as Type 2 Working Drawings. <br /> 12 Type 2E Working Drawings shall be submitted when required by the Engineer. As an <br /> I13 alternative to submitting Type 2 or 2E Working Drawings, defective Work within the <br /> 14 limits of applicability of a pre-approved repair procedure may be repaired using that <br /> 15 procedure. Repairs using a pre-approved repair procedure shall be submitted as a <br /> II 16 Type 1 Working Drawing. <br /> • 17 <br /> 18 Pre-approved repair procedures shall consist of the following: <br /> I19 <br /> 20 • The procedures listed in Section 6-01.16(2) <br /> 21 <br /> 22 • For precast concrete, repair procedures in the annual plant approval process <br /> 23 documents that have been approved for use by the Contracting Agency. <br /> 24 <br /> 25 All Working Drawings for repair procedures shall include: <br /> I26 <br /> 27 • A description of the defective Work including location, extent and pictures <br /> 28 <br /> I29 • Materials to be used in the repair. Repairs using manufactured products shall <br /> 30 include written manufacturer recommendations for intended uses of the <br /> 31 product, surface preparation, mixing, aggregate extension (if applicable), <br /> ▪ 32 ambient and surface temperature limits, placement methods, finishing and <br /> • 33 curing. <br /> 34 <br /> ▪ 35 • Construction procedures <br /> ▪ 36 <br /> 37 • Plan details of the area to be repaired <br /> I38 <br /> 39 • Calculations for Type 2E Working Drawings <br /> 40 <br /> 41 Material manufacturer's instructions and recommendations shall supersede any <br /> I42 conflicting requirements in pre-approved repair procedures. <br /> 43 <br /> 44 The Engineer shall be notified prior to performing any repair procedure and shall be <br /> I45 given an opportunity to inspect the repair work being performed. <br /> 46 <br /> 47 6-01.16(2) Pre-Approved Repair Procedures <br /> II 48 6-01.16(2)A Concrete Spalls and Poor Consolidation (Rock Pockets, <br /> ▪ 49 Honeycombs, Voids, etc.) <br /> 50 This repair shall be limited to the following areas: <br /> 1 51 <br /> City of Everett Page AM-29 Amendments <br /> 111 Everett Downtown Streetscape Improvement March 22, 2019 <br />
