The <br /> 4 • demonstration testing shall include adhesion testing of the first coat of paint over <br /> 5 galvanized bolts, nuts, and washers or a representative galvanized surface. Adhesion <br /> 6 testing shall be performed in accordance with ASTM D 4541 for 600 psi minimum <br /> I 7 adhesion. A minimum of 3 successful tests shall be performed on thegalvanized surface <br /> 8 prepared and painted using the same methods and materials to be used on the galvanized <br /> 9 bolts, nuts and washers in the field. <br /> I10 <br /> 11 6-07.3(11)A2 Paint Coat Materials <br /> 12 This section is revised to read: <br /> 113 <br /> 14 The Contractor shall paint the dry surface as follows: <br /> 15 <br /> I 16 <br /> 1. The first coat over a galvanized surface shall be an epoxy polyamide conforming <br /> 17 to Section 9-08.1(2)E . In the case of galvanized bolts used for replacement of <br /> 18 deteriorated existing rivets and for small surface areas less than or equal to one <br /> I19 square foot, an intermediate moisture cured polyurethane conforming to Section <br /> 20 9-08.1(2)G may be used as a first coat. In both cases the first coat shall be <br /> 21 compatible with galvanizing and as recommended by the top coat manufacturer. <br /> 22 <br /> I23 2. The second coat shall be a top coat moisture cured aliphatic polyurethane <br /> 24 conforming to Section 9-08.1(2)H or a top coat polyurethane conforming to <br /> 25 Section 6-07.3(10)H Option 2 NEPCOAT performance based paint specification <br /> I26 compatible with the first coat as recommended by the manufacturer. <br /> 27 <br /> 28 Each coat shall be dry before the next coat is applied. All coats applied in the shop shall be <br /> I29 dried hard before shipment. <br /> 30 <br /> 31 6-07.3(11)B Powder Coating of Galvanized Surfaces <br /> I <br /> 32 This section is revised to read: <br /> 33 <br /> 34 Powder coating of galvanized surfaces shall consist of the following coats: <br /> 35 <br /> 36 1. The first coat shall be an epoxy powder primer coat conforming to Section 9-08.2. <br /> 37 <br /> I38 2.
