I <br /> 1 1 Section 8-01, Erosion Control and Water Pollution Control <br /> 2 April 2, 2018 <br /> I3 8-01.1 Description <br /> 4 This section is revised to read: <br /> 5 <br /> I 6 7 This Work consists of furnishing, installing, maintaining, removing and disposing of best <br /> management practices (BMPs), as defined in the Washington Administrative Code (WAC) <br /> 8 173-201A, to manage erosion and water quality in accordance with these Specifications <br /> 9 and as shown in the Plans or as designated by the Engineer. <br /> I10 <br /> 11 The Contracting Agency may have a National Pollution Discharge Elimination System <br /> 12 Construction Stormwater General Permit (CSWGP) as identified in the Contract Special <br /> I13 Provisions. The Contracting Agency may or may not transfer coverage of the CSWGP to <br /> 14 the Contractor when a CSWGP has been obtained. The Contracting Agency may not have <br /> 15 a CSWGP for the project but may have another water quality related permit as identified in <br /> I16 the Contract Special Provisions or the Contracting Agency may not have water quality <br /> 17 related permits but the project is subject to applicable laws for the Work. Section 8-01 <br /> 18 covers all of these conditions. <br /> I19 <br /> 20 8-01.2 Materials <br /> 21 The first paragraph is revised to read: <br /> I22 <br /> 23 Materials shall meet the requirements of the following sections: <br /> 24 <br /> I25 Corrugated Polyethylene Drain Pipe 9-05.1(6) <br /> 26 Quarry Spalls 9-13 <br /> 27 Erosion Control and Roadside Planting 9-14 <br /> 28 Construction Geotextile 9-33 <br /> 29 <br /> 30 8-01.3(1) General <br /> 31 This section is revised to read: <br /> I 32 <br /> 33 Adaptive management shall be employed throughout the duration of the project for the <br /> 34 implementation of erosion and water pollution control permit requirements for the current <br /> I35 condition of the project site. The adaptive management includes the selection and <br /> 36 utilization of BMPs, scheduling of activities, prohibiting unacceptable practices, <br /> 37 implementing maintenance procedures, and other managerial practices that when used <br /> I38 singularly or in combination, prevent or reduce the release of pollutants to waters of the <br /> 39 State. The adaptive management shall use the means and methods identified in this <br /> 40 section and means and methods identified in the Washington State Department of <br /> 41 Transportation's Temporary Erosion and Sediment Control Manual or the Washington State <br /> I 42 Department of Ecology's Stormwater Management Manuals for construction stormwater. <br /> 43 <br /> I44 The Contractor shall install a high visibility fence along the site preservation lines shown in <br /> 45 the Plans or as instructed by the Engineer. <br /> 46 <br /> 47 Throughout the life of the project, the Contractor shall preserve and protect the delineated <br /> I48 preservation area, acting immediately to repair or restore any fencing damaged or <br /> 49 removed. <br /> 50 <br /> City of Everett Page AM-65 Amendments <br /> Everett Downtown Streetscape Improvement March 22, 2019 <br />
