Everett Music Initiative's largest annual event is the Fisherman's Village Music Festival, a multi-venue festival bringing over 300 artists, 50 bands and thousands of people to downtown Everett in the shoulder tourism season. For one weekend every year,the Puget Sound region has its spotlight shining on Everett as it hosts some of the region's biggest musical names. In addition to music,thousands of attendees enjoy visual arts components, local vendors, food trucks, restaurants and bars in downtown Everett. Fisherman's Village Music Festival is one of Everett's best off-season tourist attractions with a strong track record of overnight stays and community engagement. Proposals from projects that can prove they will generate overnight stays are preferred. Please coordinate your project's milestones with the time line on page 7 of this package. Please also show any other funding received or requested for your project. On May 16 through May 18, Fisherman's Village Music Festival will bring thousands of people to downtown Everett for a weekend of live music and a night market with dozens of local vendors, food trucks, visual artists and more. Over the last five years, no event in Everett has received more attention from regional media outlets than Fisherman's Village Music Festival. The festival estimates based on previous data that only one quarter of the festival attendees will be from Everett, and that at least ten percent will be coming from out of state. Fisherman's Village Music Festival will use the grant funding to cover the infrastructure, production and marketing for the event. Marketing will play a critical role in making sure that the festival hits its attendee goals. Through the use of a questionnaire on the ticketing website, the use of hotel codes and questions taken at the festival itself, we will have very strong data to make sure we're continuing to grow the festival and increase overnight visitors.
