City of Everett 01 4500 - 1 <br /> 2019 Biosolids Removal UT3705-2 <br /> I <br /> SECTION 01 4500 - QUALITY CONTROL <br /> PART 1 - GENERAL <br /> 1.1 SUMMARY <br /> A. This Section includes administrative and procedural requirements for quality assurance <br /> and quality control. <br /> B. Testing and inspecting services are required to verify compliance with requirements <br /> specified or indicated. These services do not relieve Contractor of responsibility for <br /> compliance with the Contract Document requirements. <br /> I1. Specified tests, inspections, and related actions do not limit Contractor's quality- <br /> control procedures that facilitate compliance with the Contract Document <br /> requirements. <br /> 2. Requirements for Contractor to provide quality-control services required by <br /> Engineer, City, or authorities having jurisdiction are not limited by provisions of this <br /> Section. <br /> ' C. Owner operates the Everett Environmental Laboratory (EEL), certified by the <br /> Washington State Department of Ecology for testing water and wastewater. Owner will <br /> employ EEL as its testing agency for biosolids quality assurance and quality control <br /> l including, but not limited to: <br /> 1. Total solids testing on dewatered biosolids to determine Total Solids; <br /> 2. Total solids testing on dewatering equipment to determine Solids Capture Rate. <br /> D. Owner is responsible for bearing costs of quality assurance and quality control testing if <br /> such testing is required by Owner. <br /> E. Contractor may request additional analyses at his or her own expense. <br /> 1. Contractor, at his or her expense, may request that Owner complete additional <br /> analysis and testing. <br /> 2. Contractor may request additional testing to be completed at a third party testing <br /> agency. Any such testing will be accomplished at Contractor's sole expense. Prior <br /> written authorization from Owner is required before hiring a third party testing <br /> agency. <br /> 3. Any testing agency used must have current certification through Washington State <br /> Department of Ecology. Use of any agency other than that chosen by Owner must <br /> receive written pre-approval from Owner's Representative. <br /> F. In the event that sample results from a third party testing agency and sample results from <br /> EEL differ by 5% TS or more, Contractor and Owner's Representative will meet to <br /> discuss changes to sampling, storage and testing procedures. <br /> 1.2 DEFINITIONS <br /> I <br /> 01 4500 - 1 QUALITY CONTROL <br /> I <br />
