(DEI)was called to the address above to photo survey and
dimension the garage door to be replaced. Present during the site visit were representatives from duoTEC and the
City of Everett.The scope of the project is to replace an existing garage door with a taller door,within an engineered
metal building.
The building is comprised of pre-engineered steel moment frames with metal girts supporting steel studs and
corrugated metal siding. Steel channel headers support the garage doors and are framed into the steel moment
frames.The existing garage door is 11'-0"tall and will be replaced by a new door, approximately 14'-0"tall.
Observations
The steel channel header supporting the garage door spans between steel moment frame columns, approximately
30'-0".The connection of the channel to the steel column was hidden during time of observation but is believed to be
set within the column flanges,connecting to the web. Steel studs bear on the channel and span between the metal
girls. There is an external metal stud system which encapsulates batt insulation and connects to the girts to create an
exterior wall.
tarc s4
Photo 1: Steel Channel Header over Photo 2: Steel Channel Header over
Garage Opening Garage Opening
//y
DIBBLE ENGINEERS INC 11029 Market Street, Kirkland WA 98033 1425.828.4200 I dibbleengineers.com
