Steve was the inspector that
came out to our rental house located at 2523 Chestnut St,in Everett, WA 98201 on Thursday, May 16th in the am. A new
panel was installed and the meter box on the exterior was to be inspected as well as the grounding rods. At this point, he
told our electrician that his work passed the inspection but proceeded to tell him the rest of our house was not to code and
he refused to sign off on the permit. There was no permission given to him by us or the electrician to be going through our
house or bedrooms. This is a violation of our privacy. The electrician tried to keep him focused on the scope of work but
Steve refused and continued to be the building police. Examples: Stairs to the loft area are not legal, the height of the
doorway in bedrooms are not to code, the upstairs area is not legal, etc. It got to the point where our electrician felt very
uncomfortable with Steve's demeanor and asked him to call us to explain what his issues outside the scope of work were.
Steve's response was they can call me. No business card was left nor were we sent the inspection report. In a phone
conversation that I (Michelle Booth) had with him around 3:00pm this afternoon, I felt that he was talking down to me, was
extremely rude, abrasive and unprofessional. When asked why he wasn't signing off on the"scope of work" he stated that
the whole house needed to be brought up to code. This house was purchased in 2005 as is per Form 17. It has been a
rental property since Spring of 2008. Since owning this house, we have not done any plumbing or electrical work. If you
would like to speak with our electrician his name is Tim Ghezzi 425 257 8810.
This is hindering the closing of our rental house as we are supposed to be signing papers on Thursday, May 24th. The
permit needs to be signed off on no later than Monday, May 20th so we can proceed forward with the closing on our
house. We look forward to an immediate response to this issue. )
d,° "i` c'
/
;FTota tc fry sP57 7/ tdd d FeAce-
4_
L
4_ ale( G
6tiThank you, ec.``` /p,Qt% 0-tc0(n u r
Pa L
Chris and Michelle Booth
ha,vx-111Sc'Ons 1 vl Gd rill r cga-- 47 e.1 c/ r
6N20412 3d J G 4l ✓/ Ct'1(it/l 1 U 5 !/c vet
r
AJo vi /20 4- IA-1w h!G/'v
_5-i /t /L (1 # /z-1 734-1/4 4,1 rz a
44 G G( h- sl,i Ls"
ll
re9 o(/'C.6 - 2-wi G l7 2g. of 1,4.557-e gist/
n F r I J I -4t5 4x fee-4
