Senator Cantwell's initial lease of office <br />space in the EMB was for a three-year term beginning in 2003. Subsequent lease agreements have <br />provided a term of six years. Senator Cantwell's most recent lease approved by Council was for the term <br />beginning January 3, 2013 through January 2, 2019. <br />The attached proposed Lease provides for a six -year term beginning January 3, 2019 and ending January 2, <br />2025. The proposed rate per square foot is $27.32 (increased from $24.85 per square foot). The current <br />parking rate for a parking stall in the EMB garage is $75 per month. The total proposed monthly rental <br />rate, with parking, is $771.66 per month. <br />Except for the increase in rent and the 2019 adjustment to monthly parking fees, no other material changes <br />have been made to any prior lease provisions. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Authorize the Mayor to execute the Lease Agreement with Senator Maria Cantwell for space at 2930 <br />Wetmore Avenue. <br />0 <br />
