<br /> ORDINANCE NO.
<br /> AN ORDINANCE, regulating the erection, construction,
<br /> enlargement, alteration, repair, demolishing,
<br /> conversion, occupancy, equipment, use, height,
<br /> area and maintenance of buildings and/or structures
<br /> of the City of Everett; providing for the adoption
<br /> of the building code or ordinance of the City of Everett,
<br /> the Uniform Building Code, Volume I, 1970 Edition,
<br /> and the Uniform Building Code Standards 1970 Edition,
<br /> of the International Conference of Building Officials,
<br /> providing penalties for the violations thereof; and
<br /> repealing Ordinance No. 4308, Ordinance No. 3241,
<br /> Ordinance No. 3412, Ordinance No. 4224, and all other
<br /> ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict therewith.
<br /> WHEREAS, the City of Everett now has on file in the office of the City Clerk
<br /> at the City Hall and has had on file for some time prior hereto for the consideration
<br /> of the Building Department, City Engineers and other officials, and the public,
<br /> three (3) copies of the 1970 Edition of the Uniform Building Code, Volume 1,
<br /> and the Uniform Building Code Standards, 1970 Edition, of the International
<br /> Conference of Building Officials, and in compliance with the laws of the State
<br /> of Washington (RCW 35. 21. 180) will maintain said copies on file in said
<br /> office, together with such amendments and additions thereto as the same are
<br /> passed by ordinance.
<br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN:
<br /> Section 1: The 1970 Edition of the Uniform Building Code, Volume 1,
<br /> including appendixes contained in Chapters 23, 38, and 49 and the Uniform
<br /> Building Code Standards, as prepared by the International Conference of
<br /> Building Officials, subject to the modifications, additions, and modifications
<br /> hereinafter set forth, is hereby adopted as the building code and ordinance
<br /> of the City of Everett and such code by reference is made hereby a part
<br /> of this ordinance as though set forth fully at length herein. Three (3)
<br /> copies of said code shall be left on file with the City Clerk of the City of
<br /> Everett for use by the public and for reference.
<br /> Section 2: Section 303(b) of Volume 1, Uniform Building Code, 1970
<br /> Edition be and hereby is amended to read as follows•
<br /> "Sec. 303(b) - Plan checking fees
<br /> When the valuation of the proposed construction
<br /> exceeds $1, 000. 00 and a plan is required to be
<br /> submitted by Subsection (c) of Section 301, a plan
<br /> checking fee shall be paid to the Building Official
<br /> at the time of submitting plans and specifications
<br /> for checking. Said plan checking fee shall be equal
<br /> to one-half of the building permit fee as set forth
<br /> in Table No. 3-A, except that where the same drawing
<br />
