• <br /> Section 279 46 . 61. 855 Riding ,on- sidewalks . <br /> A. No person shall ride a bicycle upon a sidewalk within <br /> a business district. <br /> B. The chief of police is authorized to erect signs on any <br /> sidewalk or roadway prohibiting the riding of bicycles there- <br /> on by any person and when such signs are in place no person <br /> shall disobey same . <br /> Section 280 46 .61. 860 Parents responsibility. It shall be unlawful <br /> for any parent of any child and any guardian of any ward to permit <br /> any child or ward to violate any of the provisions of sections 46 . <br /> 61. 750 through 46 . 61. 880 . <br /> Section 281 46 . 61. 865 Scope of all the provisions as set forth in <br /> Sections 46 . 61. 750 through 46 .61. 880 shall be applicable to bicycles <br /> operating upon any street or upon any public path or upon any public <br /> property. <br /> Section 282. 46. 61. 870 Violation of sections 46 . 61. 750 to 46 .61. 880 <br /> Penalty. Every person convicted of a violation of any provision of <br /> Sections 46. 61. 750 to 46 . 61. 880 shall be punished by a fine of not <br /> more than $100. 00 or imprisonment of not more than fifteen (15) days <br /> or by the removal and the detention of the license plates of such <br /> person' s bicycle for a period not to exceed 100 days , or by any <br /> combination thereof. <br /> Section 283 46 . 61. 875 Impounding of bicycles . In event the person <br /> charged with the violation of any of the provisions of Sections <br /> 46 . 61. 750 to 46 . 61. 880 shall be a minor, then and in that event the <br /> chief of police shall have the authority to impound the bicycle <br /> belonging to or being used by the person charged with the violation <br /> of Sections 46 . 61. 750 to 46 . 61. 880 until such time as the Juvenile <br /> Court shall either remand the case for prosecution or shall otherwise <br /> dispose of the case. <br /> PARKING METERS <br /> Section 287 46 . 61.900 Parking Meter Zones . When parking meter zones <br /> are established by resolution as provided in section 46 . 14 . 305 (b) , it <br /> is unlawful to park a vehicle in such a parking meter zone for a longer <br /> period of time than is established by such a resolution, or otherwise <br /> provided herein. <br /> Provided, however, that the hours for the limitation of the parking <br /> shall apply only between the hours of nine-thirty a.m. , and five-thirty <br /> p.m. , and the City Traffic Engineer with the consent of the city council , <br /> be) and he is hereby authorized to restrict the time for legal parking <br /> toff a minimum of twelve minutes in congested areas by posting signs <br /> plainly indicating the period of time during which vehicles may be <br /> legally parked, and to extend, restrict, alter or otherwise change <br /> the parking meter zones and limitation of time for parking and to <br /> create additional parking meter zones , all by and with the consent of <br /> the city council, by appropriate resolution or motion, and by <br /> posting appropriate signs as hereinbefore set forth. <br /> Section 288 46 .61.905 Parking meters--Placement--Service rates . <br /> Parking meters installed in the parking meter zones hereby estab- <br /> lished shall be placed upon the curb adjacent to the individual <br /> parking places hereinafter described. Each parking meter <br /> either automatically or manually operated in a two hour parking <br /> zone, shall be set to display thirty minutes of parking time for <br /> each five cent coin deposited , or one hour of parking time for <br /> each ten cent coin deposited, and a maximum parking time limita- <br /> tion of two hours . Each parking meter, either automatically or <br /> manually operated in a five hour parking zone shall be set to <br /> display sixty minutes of parking time for each five cent coin <br /> deposited, or two hours of parking time for each ten cent coin <br /> deposited, or five hours of parking time for each twenty-five <br /> cent coin deposited, and a maximum parking time limitation of <br /> five hours . <br /> -46- <br />
