lir . �► <br /> ORDINANCE NO. / 0 ), - 7 Ga <br /> AN ORDINANCE amending the water regulations for <br /> the City of Everett with regard to determination of <br /> actual costs, ownership and maintenance of fire <br /> hydrants and standpipes; installation of fire hydrants, <br /> and keeping accounts and records and amending Ordinance <br /> No. 4085, Section 13 (E. C. C. 14. 16. 14�; Section 58, <br /> (E. C. C. 14. 16. 580); and Section 74 (E. . C. 14. 16. 740). <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> Section 1: <br /> That Everett City Code Section 14. 16. 140 (Ordinance No. 4085, Section <br /> 13) is hereby amended in full to read hereafter as follows: <br /> "14. 16. 140 Determination of actual cost. For the purpose of this <br /> Ordinance, the terms 'cost' or 'actual cost' of any work performed for any <br /> person or other agency or City Department by the Water Department shall <br /> include the direct cost of all labor plus fringe benefits, the direct cost of all <br /> materials plus materials overhead computed at four percent (4%), the direct <br /> cost of equipment rental used in connection with the work, all other direct <br /> costs incurred in connection with the work, plus administrative and super- <br /> visory cost computed at fourteen percent (14%) of the total labor, materials <br /> and other direct costs. " <br /> Section 2: <br /> That Everett City Code Section 14. 16. 580 (Ordinance No. 4085, Section <br /> 58) is hereby amended in full to read hereafter as follows: <br /> "14. 16. 580 Fire hydrants. <br /> A. OWNERSHIP AND MAINTENANCE. The Water Department shall <br /> own and maintain all fire hydrants connected to the water system which are <br /> located on public streets, utility easements and rights of way. <br /> B. APPROVED HYDRANTS. Only approved hydrants, in accordance with <br /> Section C hereof shall be installed within the City limits. <br /> C. COMPLETE INSTALLATION. A fire hydrant installation shall <br /> be considered to include the fitting at the main, the piping and auxiliary valve <br /> between the main and the hydrant, the hydrant and such other appurtenant <br /> features necessary for a complete installation. No fire hydrant shall be installed <br /> in the water system without an auxiliary valve between the main and the hydrant. <br /> Fire hydrant installation and location shall be in accordance with applicable AWWA <br /> standards (AWWA Manual M 17) or as designated by Water Superintendent and <br /> subject to review and approval by Fire Chief. <br /> D. PAYMENT FOR INSTALLATION. The installation, removal, <br /> relocation, renewal or other work performed by the Water Department related <br /> to new or existing fire hydrants shall be done by the Water Department and <br /> -1- <br />
