ft . <br /> Section 4: There is hereby adopted as part of the salary ordinance <br /> a longevity schedule for full time employees based on years of service <br /> as follows : <br /> beginning with the first of the 6th year - Base pay plus $10.00 per mo. <br /> beginning with the first of the 11th year - Base pay plus $20.00 per mo. <br /> beginning with the first of the 16th year - Base pay plus $30.00 per mo. <br /> beginning with the first of the 21st year - Base pay plus $40.00 per mo. <br /> Longevity shall not effect part time or appointed employees or those <br /> employees in Ranges 37.1, 39.5, 39.6, 42.2, 46 and 47.2. <br /> Section 5: Since greater performance and efficiency can be secured from <br /> employees who have adequate medical care furnished on a uniform basis, <br /> it is in the best interests of the City of Everett to provide a dual- <br /> choice medical care plan as part of the consideration of employment. <br /> Therefore, the city shall provide as a form of additional compensation <br /> to all city employees who renuest it, except members of the Police and <br /> Fire Departments covered by statutory medical plans and temporary <br /> employees, a portion of the cost of a prepaid medical plan acceptable to <br /> the city, which payment by the city is not to exceed seventeen dollars <br /> ($17.00) per month per employee. <br /> Section 6: The appointment of all employees in all departments, where <br /> required by the City Charter, shall be subject to Civil Service regulations <br /> of the City of Everett, providing in event vacancies occur and there is <br /> no eligibility list from which said vacancy may be filled, temporary <br /> appointment may be made of persons without Civil Service standing. <br /> All persons paid on an hourly basis as hereinafter or herein set forth <br /> shall be considered and be day laborers as defined by the City Charter <br /> governing Civil Service. <br /> Section 7: Ordinance No. 4335, 9-69 and 37-69 and all ordinances in <br /> conflict herewith of the City of Everett, and all amendments thereto be, <br /> and the same are hereby repealed. <br /> Section 8: That an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance <br /> shall take effect Jan. 1, 1970. �v /J <br /> /lam'.‘... <br /> Mayor <br /> Attest: <br /> 5,?LOL4L-Le.(:,J <br /> DEpu y City Clerk <br /> Passed: j o7 , -(0 <br /> Valid: / .67 <br /> Published: / ), '3 A — , <br />
