C. C. 1. 52. 010 <br /> and 1. 52. 040); and repealing Sections 2 and 11 <br /> of Ordinance No. 3440 (E. C. C. 1. 52. 020 and <br /> 1. 52. 110), and declaring an emergency to exist. <br /> THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> Section 1: Ordinance No. 3440, Section 1 (E. C. C. 1. 52. 010) <br /> is hereby amended in full to read hereafter as follows: <br /> "Section 1: Sick leave provided <br /> Cumulative sick leave with pay shall accrue to <br /> each city employee actively employed in the city <br /> service at the rate of one working day of leave for <br /> each calendar month of the employee's active <br /> service, except members of the Fire Department <br /> and the Police Department under statutory pension <br /> fund systems shall not be included. The total <br /> accumulation of sick leave shall not exceed <br /> one hundred twenty (120) working days at full pay " <br /> Section 2: Ordinance No. 3440, Section 4 (E. C. C. 1. 52. 040) <br /> is hereby amended in full to read hereafter as follows: <br /> "Section 4: Reasons for granting <br /> After the probation period of nine months an employee shall <br /> be eligible to receive sick leave with pay, as herein <br /> provided, for the following reasons only: <br /> (a) Personal illness or physical incapacity to such <br /> an extent as thereby to be rendered unable to <br /> perform the duties of his or her position, provided <br /> such illness or incapacity shall not be caused or <br /> brought on by dissipation or abuse of which <br /> the head of the department shall be judge subject <br /> to review by the Mayor. <br /> (b) Enforced quarantine in accordance with certain <br /> health regulations. " <br /> Section 3: When death occurs among,members of an employee's <br /> immediate family, the employee, upon request to his department head, <br /> will be granted reasonably necessary time off as a funeral leave of <br /> absence, and will be compensated at his normal salary for the hours <br /> /d <br />
