AN ORDINANCE providing cumulative sick leave for employees of the City of Everett; establishing leave due to death in the family; amending Sections 1 and 4 of Ordinance No. 3440 (E. C. C. 1. 52. 010 and 1. 52. 040); and repealing Sections 2 and 11 of Ordinance No. 3440 (E. C. C. 1. 52. 020 and 1. 52. 110), and declaring an emergency to exist. THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: Section 1: Ordinance No. 3440, Section 1 (E. C. C. 1. 52. 010) is hereby amended in full to read hereafter as follows: "Section 1: Sick leave provided Cumulative sick leave with pay shall accrue to each city employee actively employed in the city service at the rate of one working day of leave for each calendar month of the employee's active service, except members of the Fire Department and the Police Department under statutory pension fund systems shall not be included. The total accumulation of sick leave shall not exceed one hundred twenty (120) working days at full pay " Section 2: Ordinance No. 3440, Section 4 (E. C. C. 1. 52. 040) is hereby amended in full to read hereafter as follows: "Section 4: Reasons for granting After the probation period of nine months an employee shall be eligible to receive sick leave with pay, as herein provided, for the following reasons only: (a) Personal illness or physical incapacity to such an extent as thereby to be rendered unable to perform the duties of his or her position, provided such illness or incapacity shall not be caused or brought on by dissipation or abuse of which the head of the department shall be judge subject to review by the Mayor. (b) Enforced quarantine in accordance with certain health regulations. " Section 3: When death occurs among,members of an employee's immediate family, the employee, upon request to his department head, will be granted reasonably necessary time off as a funeral leave of absence, and will be compensated at his normal salary for the hours /d
