l <br /> • and out of revenues derived from the. transit subsidy excise taxes hereafter <br /> levied and imposed or derived from state or federal sources or by loans <br /> from other City funds which may be made and repaid pursuant to state law <br /> out of the transit fund hereinafter provided for. <br /> Section 3. The following terms however used or referred to in this <br /> ordinance shall have the following meanings unless a different meaning is <br /> required by the context: <br /> A. 'Person' shall mean any individual, firm, partnership, <br /> corporation, company, association, joint stock association, school district or <br /> political subdivision of the state, fraternal, benevolent, religious or <br /> charitable society, club or organization, and shall include any trustee, <br /> receiver, assignee, or other person acting in a similar representative <br /> capacity. The term 'person' shall not be construed to include the United <br /> States nor the State of Washington. <br /> B. 'Housing unit' shall mean a building or portion thereof <br /> designed for or used for a residence or living quarters for one or more <br /> persons living together or of one family. <br /> C. 'Commercial unit' shall mean a building or portion thereof <br /> designed for or used for business, professional or industrial quarters for <br /> separate business, professional or industrial entities. <br /> D. 'Employee' shall mean any individual who, on the first <br /> day of each quarter in any calendar year in which any excise tax herein provided <br /> for is levied or collected, is employed on a full-time basis and who devotes <br /> his full time to the performance of the duties of his job or position during <br /> the regular full-time working hours determined and fixed by his employer <br /> for the position or job held and for which the employee received compensation. <br /> The term 'employee, ' however, shall not be construed <br /> to include a part-time employee, who is an individual that devotes only a <br /> part of his working time in the performance of the duties of a job or position. <br /> Section 4. Beginning with the month of December 1, 1969, <br /> there shall be levied upon all persons within the City of Everett who are <br /> served and billed by the City for any one or more public utility services <br /> -3- <br />
