• <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 6695 <br /> A Resolution in support of the 2014 Regional Snohomish County <br /> Legislative Priorities <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Everett will focus on issues related to economic growth <br /> and vitality, higher education expansion, transportation and infrastructure <br /> improvement and protection of local revenues in the 2014 Session of the State <br /> Legislature; and <br /> WHEREAS, city leaders recognize the great value of regional partnerships; and <br /> WHEREAS, to speak with one voice on regional legislative affairs demonstrates <br /> unity, collaboration and agreement; and <br /> WHEREAS, Snohomish County, the Port of Everett, Economic Alliance <br /> Snohomish County, the Snohomish County Committee for Improved <br /> Transportation, Snohomish County Cities and the Managers/Administrators <br /> Group have come together to endorse key legislative priorities in Education and <br /> Workforce, Transportation and Infrastructure and Competitiveness, and <br /> WHEREAS, the `Regional Priorities Snohomish County' clearly reflect the City's <br /> concerns for a viable economy, enriched educational opportunities, timely <br /> transportation and infrastructure improvements, and secure local funding, <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND EVERETT CITY <br /> COUNCIL THAT THE CITY OF EVERETT: <br /> 1. SUPPORTS AND ENDORSES THE 2014 SNOHOMISH COUNTY <br /> REGIONAL LEGISLATIVE PRIORITIES. <br /> 2. WITH OUR LOCAL GOVERNMENT PARTNERS AND THE ECONOMIC <br /> ALLIANCE, WILL JOINTLY ADVOCATE FOR LEGISLATION THAT WILL <br /> ADDRESS THE ECONOMIC HEALTH AND WELL BEING OF THE <br /> COMMUNITY, EXPAND HIGHER EDUCATION OPPORTUNITIES, <br /> URGE TIMELY TRANSPORTATION AND INFRASTRUCTURE <br /> IMPROVEMENTS AND PROTECT LOCAL FUNDING SOURCES. <br /> Passed and approved this 8th day of January 2011i. <br />
