EVERETT <br /> WASHINGTON <br /> City of Everett Human Needs Grant <br /> January 1, 2019 through December 31,2019 <br /> Exhibit A <br /> Program Summary <br /> Organization&Program: Snohomish County Music Project: Music Therapy for At-Risk Children <br /> The Music Project seeks to promote the positive social development of children and youth using music and,as a <br /> result,build safe and healthy communities.The Music Therapy Initiative objective is to use the power of music to <br /> inspire disconnected children and youth to develop pro-social,self-esteem and resiliency skills. <br /> Group sessions take place for incarcerated youth weekly on Wednesdays at Denney Juvenile Detention Center and <br /> for at-risk youth on Tuesdays at the Northwest Music Hall.Participant referrals are made through partnerships with <br /> the juvenile court system and Youth Enrichment Services(YES)program as part of the STEP Reform Initiative. <br /> Board certified music therapists will be responsible for planning and implementing music therapy programs for <br /> designated groups.Interns and practicum students will also be used as appropriate. <br /> This funding will support 40 hours of music therapy sessions serving a minimum of 50 of the City of Everett's at- <br /> risk youth during this grant cycle. <br /> 2019 Human Needs Contracts 8 <br />
