The city needs to standardize <br /> consequence to the agency?For on a vendor for this equipment because of the number of valves and <br /> example,additional costs or efficiencies that a single vendor provides. If the standardization is <br /> expenses that could be incurred. not approved, repetitive sole source requests as allowed per <br /> Purchasing Policy would be submitted. <br /> What are the associated risks of non- Multiple vendors for the same product is highly not recommended <br /> standardization? for a facility of our size and complexity because: it is a critical <br /> facility that provides potable water to the region—we need valves <br /> and actuators that work; inspections and repairs and maintenance <br /> are standardized and not different for different vendors; spare parts <br /> needed to be on-hand are more efficient and saves money; training <br /> city forces for one vendor is more efficient than multiple vendors; <br /> and once a reliable and suitable product is found standardization is <br /> best for more efficient purchasing,such as standardization and sole <br /> source, rather than multiple, repetitive efforts. <br /> List any additional facts supporting <br /> the standardization or brand name <br /> justification. <br /> STATEMENT OF NEED AND CERTIFICATION: <br /> My department's recommendation for brand name or standardization is based upon an objective review of the <br /> product/service required and appears to be in the best interest of the City of Everett.
