EVERETT
WASHINGTON July 26, 2019
Jeffrey and Ellie Hanes
2301 Highland Ave
Everett,WA 98201
RE: Lot 3, Block 507, Plat of Garfield's 1st Addition to the City of Everett
Dear Jeffrey and Ellie:
I thought I'd follow up with you regarding your efforts related to the city owned
property referenced above that is adjacent to your residence at 2301 Highland
Ave. It's been about a year since we last communicated about next steps going
forward toward resolving this issue. Originally, based upon your November 9,
2017, letter that was presented to the City Council during the public hearing for
the city's surplus action, the letter stated that you had retained legal
representation and that the city would receive further correspondence from
your attorney regarding the matter.
I know life gets busy and things tend to fall by the wayside once the immediacy
of an issue has been dealt with. That said, the city is still interested in
surplusing the property as it is not needed for city or public purposes any
longer. It would be greatly appreciated if you could have your attorney follow
up with the city on what your next steps are going forward. It is understood
that you may be seeking recourse through the purchase process of your
property and that that takes time. Please be assured that your continued use
of the property is granted by the city and that the city would like to conclude a
surplus of the property at some point in the near future.
If you or your attorney should have any questions regarding this letter, please
do not hesitate to contact me.
Sincerely,
Facilities/Property
Management
Michael Palacios
Q3200 Cedar Street Real Property Manager
Everett,WA 98201 Direct:425-257-8938
425.257.6290 Email: mpalacios@everettwa.gov
;;; everettwa.gov
everettwa.gov
