L7/ T AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EVERETT FIXING RATES AND CHARGES FOR CONNECTION OF PRIVATE SEWERS TO PUBLIC SEWERS AND FOR SEWER SERVICE FURNISHED BY THE CITY, AND CREATING A SEWER REVENUE FUND AND PROVIDING FOR EXPANSION OF RATES AND INCREASE OF RATES AS IT APPLIES TO SEWER CONNECTIONS: AMENDING EVERETT CITY CODE SECTIONS 14. 12. 010 AND 14. 12. 020 (Ordinance No. 4316 as amended by Ordinance No. 4332) AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY TO EXIST. WHEREAS, the City of Everett, due to increased costs of construction of trunk sewer lines and special facilities required for accept- ance and transportation of sewage, deems it necessary to expand its charges for sewer connections to include charges to property which has not paid the cost of construction of a trunk sewer line or special facilities required for acceptance and transportation of sewage: NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: Section 1: That Everett City Code Section 14. 12. 010, (Ordinance No. 4316 as amended by Ordinance No. 4332) is hereby amended to read as follows: "14. 12. 010 Connection Charges. All persons desiring to connect a private sewer to a public sewer to serve property which has not been charged by local improvement district assessment or otherwise with the cost of a lateral sewer and all persons desiring to connect a private sewer to a trunk sewer hereinafter constructed and/or special facilities required for acceptance and transportation of sewage hereinafter constructed shall pay in cash, in addition to the payment of the initial connection permit fee required by ordinance of the City, a connection charge equal to the applicable charge under paragraph IC or ID or paragraph 11 D or 11 E of Section 14. 12. 020 below for each month sewer service was available prior to filing the applica- tion. Such charge in any event shall not exceed the sum of Three Hundred and Fifty Dollars ($350. 00). Thereafter, a monthly charge as provided in Paragraph IC or ID and Paragraph 11 D or 11 E of Section 14. 12. 020 shall be paid. " Section 2: That Everett City Code Section 14. 12. 020, (Ordinance No. 4316 as amended by Ordinance No. 4332), is hereby amended to read as follows: "14. 12. 020 Charges and wages for sanitary sewerage service. The Classes of users connected and to be connected to the sanitary sewerage sys- tem or the combined sewerage system and the charges for sewerage services for each are hereby fixed as follows: 1. Properties served by the Everett municipal water system within the corporate limits of the City: A. Flat rate domestic water accounts: 1. Single family dwellings - two dollars and twenty-five cents per month. 2. Multiple family dwellings - two dollars and twenty-five cents per month for first living unit, plus two dollars for each additional living unit.
