Please contact Teresa Firnstahl with the Planning Gepartment to discuss screeriiny <br /> requirements, if any, for the revis�d rooftop mechanical equipment submitted. The Mechanical checklist is attached Co clarify the scope of what should be submitYed for <br /> permit. To assist our deparlment determine what is being proposed as new work on this <br /> perm�t, please revise the drawings as follows: <br /> a. In addition to notes clarifying the scope of new �Nork, please indicate new Type I <br /> houd work with dark lines. Existing work can be inuicated as light lines, and <br /> demolition work can be indicated with dashed lines. <br /> 2. A kitchen floor plan indicating the specific equipment served by the Type I and Type II <br /> hoods is required for plan review. � <br /> 3. The extent of the wall construction behind and adja�ent to the hood shou�d be shown on ' <br /> section drawings to indicate combustible or non-combustible construckion, including the <br /> required dimensioned clearances at kitchen equipment, per IMC 506.3.6. <br /> a. The extent of the stainless steel smooth, cleanable, nonabsorbent and <br /> noncombustihie material should be shown on the drawings and noted to extend 18 <br /> inches in all directions from the hood to the full height of the hood canopy, and <br /> below to the floor, per the exception to IMC section 507.9. <br /> 4. The listed ussembly for the grease duct enclosure system of one hour resistant grease <br /> duct fire wrap should be shown to meet the requirements of ASTM E 233E•, with the <br /> required clearances sl�own on the drawings, per IMC section 506.3.6, exception 3. <br /> b. Most tested assem,blies, incl�ding FyreWrap Elite, require two layers of Type I hood <br /> duct insulation, per ASTM E 2336. See attached. <br />
