Recent
filling and grading operations were apparently performed to echleve the I
c,isting grades. Existing development occurs to the west and north, and a I
drainage erea v+ith netive vegetation occurs to the eas!.
 SOILS CONDITIONS
The subsurface soils stratigraphy can best be seen on the pnclosed boring
logs. In general , the site was found to be underlaln at depth by dense
glaciel soils, Mhich are overlain by relatively compact artificial fi11 .
Ali borings performed vrithin the slte area encountered a basal deposit of
glacial drift, consisting of grey-brown, dense, gravelly silty sand. These
deposits were encountered at depths beiav about 3 to 1.5 feet belov+ grade. In
some areas, the native soils were found to have stratified silty sand end
gravelly silty sand, within the upper portions of the deposit. Overlytng the
basal netive glaclal drift deposits is a 0.5 ta 3 foot thick leyer of coarse
crushed rock artificlel f111 , found ta be generally tliicker twvard the south.
The surficial so11s encountered within the stte were also founJ to consist of
artificlal f111 (controlledl, consisting of grey, medium dense to dense, mixed
silty sand with gravel . The surface fi11 was generally found to be about 1 .5
 to 3.5 feet thick.
 HYDROLOGIC CONDITIONS
A perched ground water table was encountered in all borings performed around
the site eree. in general , this perched ground water was found to ocur
within the coarse crushed rock layer, but Mas also indicated within some ereas
' w of the laver portlo of te surflcial f111 materlals (see B-2, B-5 8 8-61.
