August 7, 2019 <br /> The regular meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order at 6:30 p.m., <br /> August 7, 2019, in the City Council Chambers of the William E. Moore Historic City <br /> Hall, Council President Bader presiding. Upon roll call, it was found that Mayor <br /> Franklin and Council Members Roberts, Moore, Murphy, Vogeli, Bader, and <br /> Stonecipher were present. Council Member Tuohy was excused. <br /> Council Member Stonecipher led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> The minutes of the July 31, 2019, City Council meeting were approved as printed. <br /> Council Member Moore abstained from the vote. <br /> MAYOR <br /> Mayor Franklin spoke about the recent mass shootings and stated she joined with <br /> other mayors across the country in signing a letter to the U.S. Senate urging them <br /> to take action on bipartisan gun control legislation. She also thanked first <br /> responders for their service and reminded citizens that the Everett Police <br /> Department is offering free gun locks. Mayor Franklin commented on the National <br /> Night Out events and Everett Farmer's Market and thanked neighborhood leaders <br /> and City staff for their efforts. <br /> COUNCIL <br /> Council members echoed the Mayor's comments about National Night Out events <br /> and the Everett Farmer's Market and thanked neighborhood leaders and City staff <br /> for great events. Council members also thanked the Mayor for her leadership on <br /> gun control legislation. <br /> Council Member Murphy reported on his attendance at the Shakespeare in the <br /> Park-Twelfth Night event at Wiggums Hollow Park. He also provided a recap from <br /> the Budget Subcommittee meeting held earlier this evening.
