The Special City Attorney shall be appointed by the City Council. <br /> The Assistant and Special Examiners in the Civil Service Dept. shall be <br /> appointed by the Civil Service Commission <br /> The Assistans and employees in the Department of Finance shall be appointed <br /> by the Couunissioner of Finance. <br /> The officers, except City Engineer, assistants and employees in the Dept. of <br /> Public Works shall be appointed by the Commissioner of Public Works . <br /> The City Council shall appoint a City Clerk, City Attorney, Treasurer and <br /> City Engineer, as provided by Section 24 of the charter. <br /> The officers, assistants and employees in the Department of Safety shall be <br /> appointed by the Commissioner of Safety. <br /> All persons paid on an hourly basis as hereinafter or herein set forth shall <br /> be considered and be day laborers as defined by the City Charter governing <br /> Civil Service. (1. 16.270) <br /> Section Z9:; The City Commissioners of the City of Everett hereby find that <br /> greater performance and efficiency can be secured from the city employees <br /> who have adequate medical care furnished on a uniform basis and that it is <br /> for the best interest of the City of Everett to furnish medical care as a <br /> part of the consideration of employment. (1.16.280) <br /> Section The City Commissioners of the City of Everett shall provide as <br /> part of the compensation to be paid all city employees of the City of Everett, <br /> except policemen, firemen and temporary employees, a prepaid medical plan at <br /> a cost of not to exceed $6.00 per month per employee. <br /> Section 31: There is hereby established a pay range code for non-uniform <br /> employees of the City of Everett and all references to said code in this <br /> ordinance shall be by number preceded by the letter "R". This code shall <br /> not apply to all persons who are not allocated a code range number. <br /> The payrange code as hereinafter set forth, establishes the salary range <br /> based on years of service of each employee, except as hereinafter modified <br /> and limited.
