<br /> AN ORDINANCE levying the general taxes for the City of Everett for
<br /> the fiscal year commencing January 1, 1968, on all taxable property,
<br /> both real and personal, in said city, subject to taxation thereon, for
<br /> the purpose of raising a portion of the revenue to carry on the different
<br /> departments of said city for the ensuing year, as required by the Charter
<br /> of the City of Everett and the laws of the State of Washington; pre-
<br /> scribing and apportioning the same into the different funds of said city
<br /> for the fiscal year, and providing for the collection thereof.
<br /> WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Everett duly and regularly
<br /> adopted as required by law, the estimate of the amounts required to
<br /> meet the public expense of said city for the ensuing year and the amount
<br /> to be raised by taxation in said city for said ensuing year from sources
<br /> other than direct taxation, and
<br /> WHEREAS, notice that said city council tentatively completed the budget
<br /> for the year 1968, and that a copy of said budget would be furnished
<br /> any taxpayer of the City of Everett on application thereof, and that
<br /> the City Council of said city would meet in the Council Chambers of the
<br /> City Hall at 9 a.m. on the 2nd day of October, 1967, for the purpose
<br /> of fixing the final budget and determining the tax levy and that any
<br /> taxpayer might appear thereat and be heard for or against any part of
<br /> said budget, was published inthe official newspaper in all respects as
<br /> required by law, and
<br /> WHEREAS, the City of Everett will be required to pay the sum of
<br /> $286,412.96 during the year 1968 upon its General Obligation 1967 Street
<br /> Improvement Bonds for payment of principle and interest, and
<br /> WHEREAS, the City Council, did on the 2nd of October, 1967, meet in the
<br /> Council Chambers for the said purpose and having heard all persons
<br /> appearing in favor of or against said proposed levy, did then and there
<br /> make, determine and decide the amount of taxes to be placed upon the
<br /> current assessment roll to be the sum of $1,606,656. 13,
<br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN:
<br /> Section 1: That there be, and hereby is, levied upon real and personal
<br /> property in the City of Everett, subject to taxation thereon, a general
<br /> property tax for municipal purposes for the ensuing year commencing on
<br /> January 1, 1968, in the sum of $1,606,656. 13 allocated as follows:
<br /> General Current Expense Fund 1, 155,212.78
<br /> Firemen's Pension Fund 165,030.39
<br /> General Obligation 1967 Street
<br /> Improvement Bond, Principal & Interest 286,412.96 $1,606,656. 13
<br /> Section 2: That the City Clerk be, and he is hereby directed to certify
<br /> to the County Assessor a copy of this ordinance in order that the same
<br /> be extended upon the general assessment roll of said county, in the same
<br /> manner and at the same time as the levy for state and county taxes is
<br /> extended.
