ORDER: TRANSIT FEES (COVID-19)
WHEREAS,
A. In my capacity as Mayor, I proclaimed that a civil emergency exists regarding COVID-19 in the
City of Everett in the Mayoral Proclamation of Civil Emergency dated March 4, 2020.
B. On March 25, 2020,the Everett City Council adopted Ordinance 3742-20 regarding COVID-19,
which gave me authority to order the City to waive transit fares. Accordingly, the City has been
waiving transit fares.
C. Since Snohomish County is now in reopening Phase Two, and since other transit agencies are
beginning to charge fares again, Everett Transit should begin charging fares on July 1, 2020.
I, CASSIE FRANKLIN, MAYOR OF THE CITY OF EVERETT,ACTING UNDER THE AUTHORITY OF
ORDINANCE 3742-20 DATED MARCH 25, 2020, HEREBY ORDER:
1. Effective July 1, 2020, Everett Transit will no longer waive fares (fixed route and paratransit)
under Ordinance 3742-20.
2. Everett Transit should make reasonable efforts to inform transit customers of this change
beforehand.
