The regular Mdminietrative Session of the <br /> City Council was held May 11th,1931 at 10:30 A.M.with Mayor <br /> Clay in the Chair,and Commissioners Turner and W1111ame preeent <br /> at roll call. <br /> On motion minutes approved ae of record. <br /> Moved by Turner,drooled by 11.8.0 that the <br /> Parent Teaoher'e Association of the Garfield Sohool is hereby <br /> granted Permission to use Summit Avenue from 30th to glad Street <br /> May 13th,1931 ani the Commieeioner OA Public Works aaelgnated <br /> to make proper aselgnuents. <br /> Carried Unanimously, <br /> Moved by William.,aeconded by Turner that the <br /> f.. Puget Bound Traction Company is hereby granted permission to axx- <br /> enge for the h./ling of stage business from the Interurban depot <br /> ae outlined in their letter of May 10th,and acreompavying sketch. <br /> Carried Onanimouely. <br /> Reeolutian No.b85*.by Turner <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF EVERETT:- <br /> That Memorial Day,May 506h,19a1,be and it <br /> is hereby declared a holiday to the end that due recagnitian may be <br /> given to the memory of the deed who have eerved the Republic in <br /> its ware for freedom and hdmanity: <br /> BE IT RORTBZR RESOLVED:That we respectfully <br /> request that all place.of business,factories,sbboe's,etc.be <br /> closed upon Memorial Day in oder that due opportunity be given <br /> every porton to fittingly abserre this day,and <br /> BE IT FOmTHER RESOLVED:That the Mayor and <br /> Preeident of the Council be authorised and requested to iseue <br /> a proclamation in accordance with the terms oft his Resolution. <br /> Carried Unanimously, <br /> On motion Counoll adjourned at 11:15 A.M. <br /> Louie Leah,City Clerk. <br />
