January 2,1974 <br /> The regular meeting of the City of Everett Council Workshop Session was called <br /> to order at 9:30 a.m.,Wednesday,January 2,1974, President Rucker <br /> presiding and all Councilmen present. <br /> Mayor Anderson introduced Mr.Dick Hempstad and Mr.Jerry Probst of the <br /> State Community Development Office. The Councilmen were asked to put aside <br /> the workshop item,Alternatives for Sidewalk on Federal Avenue,to talk <br /> with these gentlemen. <br /> Mx.Hempstad sald the State Community Development Office will be asking for , <br /> input from tin local governments on their planning in this area foz the <br /> period of 1975 to 1977 so that the planning can be coordinated with the <br /> State plans and a budget for that period of time be made. He said there <br /> would be a kit of material sent to the mayors and county commissioners to <br /> aid them in supplying the information to the state office. <br /> On motion the meeting was recessed to the Council Chambers. <br /> The regular meeting of the City Council was called to order by President Rucker <br /> at 10 a.m.in the Council chambers. Roll was called with all Councilmen - <br /> present. The minutes of the meeting of December 26 were approved as printed. <br /> N.POLICE OFFICER <br /> Craig Keister was sworn in as a new police officer. This new officer brings <br /> the number of polIce officers to 96 in the City of Everett. <br /> COUNCIL BILL 4293-73 <br /> Final Reading <br /> An Ordinance recognizing the Snohomish Health District as performing public <br /> health functions and declaring certain activities as public nuisances affecting <br /> health and repealing Everett City Code(ECC.)Chapter 10.12 (Ordinance <br /> No.1589,Sections 1-117 20-29). <br /> Moved by Councilman Michelson,seconded by Councilman Aldcroft that this is <br /> declared to be the final reading of Council Bill 4293-73 and the City Clerk <br /> Is directed to call the roll for the final dasposition of the ordinance. <br /> AYES: Langus,Mich,son,Dobler,Gipson,Aldcroft,Egnch,Rucker. <br /> NAYS: None <br /> ORDINANCE NO.271-74 adopted <br /> COUNCIL BILL 6297-73 <br /> Final Reading <br /> An Ordinance establishing the basic salary schedule for employees of the <br /> City of Everett and repealing Ordinance 4226-73. <br /> George Eastman presented four amendments to Council Bill#23.7-73 as follows: <br /> •, <br /> • <br />
