10 <br /> January 15,1975 <br /> The regular meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order at <br /> 1.30 a.m.in the Conference Room by Ccil President Kinch and all <br /> Councilmen in attendance except Counciounlmen Langus and Aldcroft who were <br /> excused. <br /> t 2 DaleLAINS BURSA.REPORT <br /> e Pope,Public Information Officer,presented a slide presentation <br />, 1 of the Police Department' Chaplains Bureau. The slides depicted <br /> 1 different instances when ine Chaplains Bureau was of much value. <br /> Councilman Aldoroft came in. <br /> COUNCIL BILL 6280-74 <br /> Councilman Aldcroft stated that the reason he presented this ordinance <br /> was due to the budget crunch this Year. He stated he felt the travel eu- <br /> POnse was one expense that could possibly be cut down,and that CitY Council <br /> should be the one to authorise this type of expend.ituse. He further <br /> i stated he felt this way the City Council could have better control and <br /> be kept up to date at to who was going where,when,and why. <br /> Steve Hashimoto,Perscnnel Director,gave a brief report to Council to <br /> update'them cm the C.E.T.A.Program. <br /> Mr.Hashimoto stated that due to the change in requirements of this <br /> n laid <br /> ff in 1971 <br /> Z7tErtn:tt2=Vgr.' been <br /> employees <br /> have been notified that they are eligible to return to the City for <br /> empoyment. <br /> H 61D REZONE <br /> Council President Kinch read a memo directed to the Mayor and City <br /> Council from City Attorney,Al Hendricks,with an attached letter from <br /> Mr.Allendoerfer,Attorney for Mr.Robert Hnsign,regarding rec..- <br /> mendations for the rezone of the H 6 D,Inc. <br /> Mr.Hendricks stated that from a policy and legal point of view,he <br /> had no objections to Council following Mr.Allendoerfer's recommendation!, <br /> although it was his position that the area in question is at the present <br /> time validly zoned B-2. <br /> Mr.Hendricks further stated that'since a question has been raised regarding <br /> ' the soning ordinance for this particular area,he would concur in the <br /> Het <br /> that the zoning in this area should be reaffirmed as a <br /> H-2(community shopping/sone. <br /> Moved by Councilman Michelson,seconded by Councilman Gipson to take no <br /> ' action of H .rezoning and to maintain the status quo as alreadY <br /> covered by our present ordinance. <br /> Roll was called with all Councilmen voting yes exdept Councilman Lang.'s <br /> who was excused.. <br /> Motion carried <br /> On motion the meeting recessed to the Council Chambers. <br /> :i <br />
