April 2,1975 <br /> The Regular Meeting of the Everett City Council was called to 77087 81 <br /> 8:30 a.m.in the Conference Room with Council President Kinch presiding I <br /> and all Councilmen in attendance except Councilman Rucker and Langus <br /> who were excused. <br /> MOTOR VESICLE BID IMPUEST <br /> .ke Chambers,Motor Vehicle Director,briefly outlined the request for a 3.'jd <br /> call for bids for the 1335 equipment. Se stated that staff had analyzed 1:1 <br /> the City of Everett equipment for age,mileage,oil consumption,mainten- <br /> ance cost per mile and general condition. Based on these factors,the <br /> staff is requesting approval to call for bide on 35 various new 1975 <br /> unite. <br /> Councilman Aldcroft asked Mr.Chambers if he felt it absolutely necessary <br /> to make these 35 replacements. <br /> Mr.Chambers stated that he had very carefully analyzed the situacioe and <br /> it is his opinion that there is a very definite need for these replacements. <br /> Mr.Chambers further stated that$200.000 had been approPziated 17 178 0975 <br /> Budget for these purchases and that he estimated the total package of the <br /> thirty five units will run approximately 3190,000. <br /> CONPUTER SLEET MANAGEMENT SYSTEM <br /> Mike Chambara stated that just prior to expiration of our contract with Main- <br /> ate,Inc.,they were contacted by the System Servicea Division of Xing <br /> County. They proposed a similar service with shorter turn around time and <br /> less cost. Bill Anderson and myself mot with representatives of King <br /> County and they discussed the equipment,the proposal,and their performance <br /> capability. • <br /> Bill Anderson has assuzsd me that their system is a viable system with <br /> sufficient reserve capability and the possibility of non-performance is <br /> very small. <br /> ' Mx.Chambers further stated that by going to the System Services Division <br /> of King County rather than Celeste,the City would save approximately <br /> $1,946.75 per year. <br /> 88 812180 712 8078298222 of this system over Mainstem are. A more compre- <br /> hensive report,reduced turn around time,and lower coat.
