April 2,1975 The Regular Meeting of the Everett City Council was called to 77087 81 8:30 a.m.in the Conference Room with Council President Kinch presiding I and all Councilmen in attendance except Councilman Rucker and Langus who were excused. MOTOR VESICLE BID IMPUEST .ke Chambers,Motor Vehicle Director,briefly outlined the request for a 3.'jd call for bids for the 1335 equipment. Se stated that staff had analyzed 1:1 the City of Everett equipment for age,mileage,oil consumption,mainten- ance cost per mile and general condition. Based on these factors,the staff is requesting approval to call for bide on 35 various new 1975 unite. Councilman Aldcroft asked Mr.Chambers if he felt it absolutely necessary to make these 35 replacements. Mr.Chambers stated that he had very carefully analyzed the situacioe and it is his opinion that there is a very definite need for these replacements. Mr.Chambers further stated that$200.000 had been approPziated 17 178 0975 Budget for these purchases and that he estimated the total package of the thirty five units will run approximately 3190,000. CONPUTER SLEET MANAGEMENT SYSTEM Mike Chambara stated that just prior to expiration of our contract with Main- ate,Inc.,they were contacted by the System Servicea Division of Xing County. They proposed a similar service with shorter turn around time and less cost. Bill Anderson and myself mot with representatives of King County and they discussed the equipment,the proposal,and their performance capability. • Bill Anderson has assuzsd me that their system is a viable system with sufficient reserve capability and the possibility of non-performance is very small. ' Mx.Chambers further stated that by going to the System Services Division of King County rather than Celeste,the City would save approximately $1,946.75 per year. 88 812180 712 8078298222 of this system over Mainstem are.
