Council Predident Gipson gave eirch Councilrean a letter from Phyllis phere,Chairman of the Ring County Subregion. Committee,which reads as follows' • As you are aware,the King County Subregional Committee has been actively working toward a solution to the PSCOG's membership prob- lem. A subcommittee of the Subregional Committee has identified the key differences between PSCOG and the counties'proposed organ- , iiation. Recommendations have been developed bY the esbcommittee to resolve the Major issues. The extensive deliberations of the suboo'mnittee have proven to be • exceedingly useful. Xing County Councilmen liave participated in the deliberations-although not necessary concurring with the recom- mendations. ' • I strongly believe that the Subregional Committees are the most appropriate forum for continued efforts to reconcile the differences between the cities a.counties. I have encouraged Mayor Moe,Chair- , manor the Snohomish County Subregion.'Comittee to fvnaaaa a aeaf- . ing or dialogue to review the existing and proposed organizations • and to make recommendatioris to reconcile the differences. At such time ns each Subregional Committee has reached a'consensus;the recommendations of each should be melded together to form ihe basis . . for a reement. I have taken the liberty of providing you with copies of the recom- mendations endereed'hy the King County Subregional Committee on February 19,a comparison of differences between PSCOG and the counties proposal,diagrams of the proposed decision-making process a: and a draft of a Council voting structure which meets the endorsed recommendation. Moved by Councilman Xinch,seconded by councilman Ebert to direct the representatives of Council to proceed with this matter and meet with the Snohomish County Commissioners a.the people in- volved in the Subregional Committee to try tO iron out the dif- ferences betmean the two committeee by March 31,1976,and bming back to Council for further consideration. • Roll was called with all Councilmen voting yes except Councilman Michelson who voted no.., 600100 050006d ) • (
