12 January 19,1977 <br /> The regular meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order at <br /> 2:00 p.m.,Tanaary 19,1977 in the Conference Room of the Everett City <br /> Hall with President Ebert presiding and all councilmen in attendance. <br /> TRAFFIC CODE-CRIMINAL JUSTICE REEVALUATION <br /> Dick Thompson,City Attorney,reviewed the Model Traffic ordinance as <br /> prepared by the legislature. Hugh Warren then explained some of the <br /> differences between the Everett hraffiN code and the MTO. He said the <br /> Everett traffic co,had been used as one of the bases for the NTO but <br /> there definitely ya-ie some differences that perhaps should be discussed <br /> by the council. He asked for no formal action today as they would be <br /> going over more of the code to compare with theMity's code. <br /> Moved by CouncilMan Juckett,seconded by Councilman Michelson to proceed <br /> with the concept of the Model Traffic Code and request the engineering <br /> and legal departymnts to return with an update 777 79 differences be- <br /> . <br /> tween the two codes. <br /> Roll was called with all councilmen voting yes. <br /> Motion Carried <br /> AMBULANCE CONTRACT DISCUSSION <br /> Reino Wataun,Fire Chief,explained to the council that the major change <br /> in the ambulance contract was that Baker Ambulance would not respond in <br /> "n emergency manner unless requested by dispatch,and if they responded <br /> . , 1719 non-emergency mode and did not carrY 1:797779777,theY...Id get Paid <br /> a fee of$11.77. <br /> 7779 77.71. <br /> • Councilman Michelson said he hod requested Chief Watson to appear today <br /> • <br /> to explain this change and thanked Mr.Watson for being there. <br /> ! , INFORMAL MEETING <br /> Li.,....._:! PresidentEhertsaidshewasproposing.forthecomingyearthatthecouncil <br /> meet informally with each board or advisory committee to"get to know each <br /> other",which she hop.would provide for better relationships between the <br /> council and the various grouPs. <br /> C/TY FACILITIES <br /> Councilman Michelson suggested that the council should.make pert.. <br /> visits to the various city facilities such as parks,fire stations,ser- <br /> vice center,etc. Prmsident Ebert welcomed the idea and said she would <br /> 2 set aside some time in the future for this. <br /> The meeting then recessed at 4:10 to reconvene in the Council Chambers <br /> The regular meeting of thewNverett City Council reconvened at 7:00 p.m. <br /> in the Council Chambers of the Everett City Hall,President Ebert pre- <br /> siding. Upon roll call it was f6und that all councilmen were in attendance. <br />
