398 December 7,1977 CAfa The regular meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order at • 9:00 a.m.in the Conference Room of the Everett City Hall with President Michelson presiding and all councilmen in attendance except Councilman Langus who was excused. The meeting then recessed into executive session. The regular meeting of the Everett City Council reconvened at 9:40 a.m. SOUTHWEST EVERETT STUDY iGd Reid Shockey,Planning Director,said this is an area of 000000 4500 acres running from approximately Glenwood Avenue west and from Beverly La.to the south city limits. He said this azua included the prime residential land and also the prime industrial area of the city of Everett. The city knows there are drainage problems,sewer and water needs and arterial street needs.The thrust of the Southwest Everett Study in to decide what the actual issues are. The consultant will make an inventory of the area and then analyze their findings. The result will be made known at several public hearings in the area. Mr.Shockey said a citizens'committee had been apointed and had al- ready met and immediately agreed their primary purpoee was to decide how industry a.residential areas are associated with each other. He asked that a councilman be appointed as liaison to the Southwest Everett Study Citizens'Committee. On motion the meeting recessed to the Council Chambe.. ' f COUNCILMAN OFFICE HOURS Councilman Baker announced she will be in the council office on Tuesday mOrnings. PoBLIC HEARING(C137712-.3) A public hearing was held on the proposed LID for water mains on a por- tion of Dover and England Avenue. Lloyd Henning,City Engineer,said the total improvement consists of approximately 700 feet of six-inch 111 andiron water line from Holbrook on Dover north to England Avenue and on England Avenue easterly to its terminua. A hydrant will be placed at England and Dover Avenue. The total assessed valuation of the land improvements according to the Snohomish County assessor's office is 045,100. Currently there are no improvements on the ProPer- ty. The estimated cost of the improvement is$1e,poo and it is with in ., the limits of the law.
