289 <br /> July 28,1982 <br /> Th.regular meeting of the Everett City Council was called to attar <br /> 030 a.m.,July 28,1982,in the Council Chambers of the Everett <br /> City Hall,President Pope presiding. Upon roll call it was found <br /> that Mayor Moore and all Councilmen were in attendance except <br /> councilman Overstreet,who was excused. Councilmen Aldcroft and <br /> Gipson arrived after roll call. <br /> Minutes of the meeting held July 21,19,2,were aPPzoved as Printed. <br /> PROCLAMATIONS <br /> Mayor Moore made the following two proclamations( <br /> Augest 6,1982 as"Founding Father's Day" <br /> September 8,1982 to be"National Cancer Day" <br /> EMPLOYEE RECOGNITION <br /> Mayor Moore reported a letter had been received from the State <br /> that William C.Bruce,Water Department employee,had received <br /> Water Distribution Management certification. He complimented the <br /> department on the high caliber Of its emPloVeee. <br /> EXECUTIVE SESSION <br /> President Pope announced there would be an Executive Session <br /> preceding the budget hearing today tO diScuss several legal matters. <br /> COUNUL(TESTING CHANGE <br /> President Pope said the Council meeting On September Oth WOUld <br /> held at the new fire station which will be completed in applmxi- <br /> mately 30 days. This will be a combined meeting and dedication of <br /> the facility. A shuttle bus will be available to take citizens <br /> wishing to attend the meeting from City Hall tt-tlie fire station. <br /> STOP ABUSE LIABILITY INSURANCE-(CB 027-330 <br /> SrUce Jones,City Attorney,repotted he had received a letter from <br /> the Stop Abuse Director asking that the required 81,000,000 in <br /> liability insurance be reduced to$800,000 as they PresentlY <br /> carry. The cost of additional instrance would represent 138 of <br /> their$3,000 grant. He said he had discussed this matter with <br /> Anne Frederick,the City's Risk Manager,who advised that these 't( <br /> contracts should remain as written. However,he personal/y favored <br /> using these extra dollars for services to needY <br />
