Upon roll call it was found that <br /> Mayor Moore and all Councilmen were in attendance,except Councilman <br /> ' Stephanson,who was excused. <br /> F1 Minutes of the meeting held March 30,1983,were approved as printed. <br /> MAYOR'S COMMENTS <br /> Mayor Moore commented that it was one year ago today that the citizens <br /> approved by a 82.88 vote of confidence the Medic 1 program. He reported <br /> it was working extremely well and the expanded program should be in <br /> place by Slane. <br /> 1,, NEW POL/CE OFFICERS <br /> ' Deputy Police Chief Aaron introduced new Police Officers Christens K. <br /> Prestegard and Michael R.Jesmer,who were presented their badges after <br /> being sworn in. <br /> JAWS OF LIFE DONATION <br /> Deputy Fire Chief Eranstrom introduced Jim 011is and Tom Granstra,of <br /> the North Everett Lion's Club,and announced this organization had just <br /> donated a.5Jaws of Life5 to the City of Everett. <br /> RESOLUTION-PRECINCT BOUNDARY CHANGES <br /> :VesTIIIW.t!m:.°M;tf:rtn17.=d'a'Y Ardc"rt' <br /> A RESOLUTION regarding 1983 Election Precinct <br /> Boundary changes. <br /> 1414EREAS,the City Council finds that the Snohomish County Auditor <br /> is planning to draw new election precinct boundaries for the 1953 <br /> telections,and <br /> WHEREAS,the City Council finds that all Everett 5mecincts were <br /> redrawn in 1979,thereby changing 106 precincts to 59,and <br /> 117 WHEREAS,the City Council finds that 1982 Congressional redistrict- <br /> ing required further cbanges in precinct boundaries,and <br /> WHEREAS,the City Council finds that there is a confusion factor <br /> inherent in continual or unnecessary changes in precinct boundaries <br /> that is detrimental to voter participation in elections,and <br /> : WHEREAS,the City Council finds that redrawing precinct boundaries <br /> entails considerable preparation expense,as well as the cost of issuing <br /> and mailing new precinct identification cards to all voters affected,and <br /> WHEREAS,the City Council finds that it is in the best interests of <br /> the citizens of Everett that all boundary changes be minimized. <br /> .1,,: <br />
