Re said without <br /> .4• item 14,the road eurfacing,the total of all change ordere to the <br /> original contract is 5359,732. <br /> Councilman Michelson questioned the cost of surfacing thie street <br /> and the benefit of it and Mr.Olivers replied,over a 10-year period <br /> it would more than make up for the maintenance cost that would be <br /> necessary to keep it in proper condition. . <br /> Councilman Gipeon asked if the road was owned by the City or was it <br /> a joint City-County road and Mr.Olivers said he had looked into this <br /> and found all the deeds proving that the City was the owner of this <br /> street. <br /> i Councilman Overstreet felt there were definite advantages to aurfacing <br /> the road.but suggested postponing action on this until it could be <br /> further reviewed. <br /> Mr.°livers said he had discussed the surfacing with the street <br /> superintendent and with Herb Boushey,from Public Works,and also <br /> with Gray Osborne,consulting engineer,as to the advantages of <br /> surfecing,and they all felt the surfacing should be blacktop and <br /> the cross section as'explain.was necessary. Anything less than tlmt <br /> would need additional maintenance. <br /> Councilman Stephenson anted if the P.U.D.'would share in the maintenma3 <br /> cost of the road and Mr.Olivers replied no,but would share in the I <br /> cost of the capital improvement part and Mr.Stephenson said he would <br /> '•r.1 <br /> • <br />
