280 <br /> July 20,1983 <br /> The regular meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order <br /> at 7:00 p.m.,July 20,1963,in the Council Chambers of the Everett <br /> city Hall,president Pope presiding. Upon roll call it was found <br /> that Mayor Moore and all Councilmen were in attendance,except <br /> Councilman Aldcroft,.who was excused. <br /> Minutes of the meeting held July 13,1983,were approved.as printed <br /> with e correction on page 268 that Gretchen Shaffer was appointed to <br /> replace Marion McCarley on the Planning Commission,not Ben Newland. <br /> • APPOINTMENT <br /> Mayor Moore asked for Council's concurrence in appointing Chuck Moser <br /> to the Planning Commission repiecing Sen NewC9nd. <br /> Moved by Councilman Lanqus,seconded by Councilman Stephenson,to <br /> concur in the Mayor's appointment of Chuck Moser to the Planning <br /> Commission,term to expire 12/31/1988. <br /> Roll was called with all Councilmen voting yes,except Councilman <br /> Aldcroft,who was excused- <br /> Motion Carried <br /> PRESIDENT'S COMMENTS <br /> oM.ciettwo=="p=et"attltat'c!=ritntfqhr nuaU=erve <br /> !, He also said that Consent Agenda item 64,Loganberry Lane area 75% <br /> annexation petition,had been deleted and date for public hearing <br /> would be re-set later. <br /> . He then announced that Item CI,third and final reading of an <br /> ordinance assuming jurisdiction of the Mukilteo Pater District, <br /> would be continued to 8:30 a.m.,July 27th. <br /> STREET FAIR PARX/NG TICKETS WAIVER • • <br /> • President Pope said a letter ha.d been received from the Downtown <br /> • Everett Nasociation requesting that parking tickets issuance be <br /> .• waived during the Street Fair,July 28th-30-th. <br /> Moved by Councilman Langus,seconded by Councilman Michelson,to <br /> approve the request to waive issuing parking tickets during the <br /> Street Fair. <br /> Councilman Overstreet RICE-this request employees in-:Reverse as <br /> he felt this could cause problems if downtown employees used the <br /> parking spaces intended for shoppers during the Street Pair. <br /> • <br /> • Moved by Councilman Overstreet,seconded by Councilman'Michelson,to <br /> table the motion until a representative of the Downtown Everett <br /> Association could appear before Council to answer questions. <br /> Roll was called with all Councilmerr.voting-no,except Councilmen <br /> overstseee 00a t0i.03.000;.0 voted-yes,ana commaman Alacrore, <br /> who was.cuseel. <br /> Motion Failed <br />
