Upon roll call it rms feu. that <br /> all councilmen were present. <br /> CHASTER OF CONNENcE FUNDING REQUEST <br /> councilman Pope, Budget Committee Chairman, said this workshop was <br /> for the purpose of reviewing the Chamber of Commerce 1986 Tourism <br /> contract and their special request for Expo 86 funding. Be then <br /> introduced Waren Charnell,Aburism Director from the Chamber who <br /> reviewed the Narketing Plan she had presented to the council at the <br /> Oct.2nd meeting. <br /> She then explained the expenditures in the tourist tontr-act <br /> including Nanagment Services, Vibiter,Orride rePrinte Trede Show <br /> participation, Region IV Marketing <br /> requested for this contract is$41,20, etc. The total amount. . <br /> She reminded the council that Expo 06 is in Vancouver, Canada next <br /> year and millions of people will be driving ula taS to attend khe <br /> exposition, The Chamber would like.to divert these visitors into <br /> Everett and they are asking for funding in the amount of$30,000 for <br /> this purpose. The funds would be used for advertisements in"Travel <br /> Washington', 'Notorland., Westways', and....Inset' magazines. A new <br /> Everett brochure will be printed and an Everett card for <br /> distribution on Washington State and B.C.Ferry systems. A coupon <br /> book printed to use as response to magazine adverrising, plee <br /> hospitality information sheets and other publicity programs. She <br /> $aid the total budget for the Expos proposal ie $76,605 end the <br /> balance of the funds will be requested frem other governmental <br /> agencies,private business,etc. <br /> bill Cushman, Finance Director, prOSented a list of expenditures <br /> from the Botet/Motel Tax Fund for the year 1985 and estimates for <br /> the year 1986.
