This will save the city approximately$808 <br /> each year. 1?!. <br /> orin pjeran, Navy Homeporting Coordinator, said that hi. Position <br /> terminates when the planning grant terminates March 31st.He said he ti44 <br /> chose not to apply for executive director of the ESCICC, the next s s 11'1' <br /> step. He thanked the Mayor and the council for the opportunitY to sst ' <br /> work with them and for all their support and help. <br /> He then introduced Capt. Bob Baril,U. S. Navy Ret. of 4619 79th <br /> Place S.M., Mukilteo, who has been unanimously selected as the <br /> Executive Director of the Everett Snohomish County Impact <br /> Coordinating Council. (ESCICC) Capt. Belli said be was looking <br /> forward to working with the city a.felhe could be helpful with sist <br /> his years of experience with the navy. <br /> maCCC Moore asked Claire Olivers to bring the council up to date on <br /> the sewer lagoon. Mr.°livers said the DOE has new guidelines which <br /> will not allow for expansion of the sewer lagoon system. Staff is <br /> meeting with DOE today in an endeavor to find out more information. <br /> Such as whether the city can continue to use the present lagoon and s,s' <br /> perhaps build another in the south end of the city or if it will <br /> have to be closed,etc. <br /> President Gipson asked if any city people had been able to testify <br /> on the new regs explaining the cost to the city, etc. and Mr. <br /> °livers replied no,it Was strictly DOE staff. <br /> Sruce Jones, City Attorney, recommended the elected officials <br /> exhaust every possibility to prohibit this regulation becoming a law. <br /> s Councilman Stephenson said if the DOE people don't want to talk <br /> aerOas the table,they should have to talk through the courts. He <br /> thought the city should legallY°hall...the interPretation befere 10,1, <br /> 1 it becomes a NAC. <br /> Mayor Moore said if this regulation does go into effect, it will <br /> stop economic development as the city will be prohibited from s a <br /> f issuing any permits. <br /> 1,11" <br /> CODICIL cOmmENTS <br /> , Councilman morrow commented on the PSCG retreat he had participated <br /> in and the opening of the new jail.
