Upon roll call it was found <br /> 1 t that Mayor Moore and all councilmen were present. <br /> 11 I minute.of the meeting held Nay 6, 1987 were approved as printed <br /> with Councilman Pope abstaining from voting. <br /> II PROCLAMATION <br /> nYnror"g,r4e17;e11:1':nddtge w:n"th"oPllay"a:"rOci'd'ehr rmYerfcells"4'dierg! <br /> h 'J <br /> He also proclaimed Nay 17 through 23 as FEverett Tourism Week.. <br /> COUNCIL COAMENTS <br />, . Councilman Morrow said the American Heart Association is holding a <br /> 1 ` 1 fo <br /> nd raiser on Nay 27 et Gerry Andals and he has been selected to be <br /> jailed and asked for donations to the fund to hail him out. <br /> Councilman Hive reviewed the work of the committee on the bond <br />!: 1r issues and said this week 2= signs will be placed around the city,y11:htb.e Vm:rbslYjna'IsOndpe:p17t:fri leatelepg'nitrr anrefsk2 <br /> J it' j 6 the council and other city employees for assistance in this or in <br /> just talking to their neighbors about the importance of these bond <br /> r '4 i' issues. <br />' , 6 <br /> it41' <br /> Councilman Stephenson introduced Nary Fears, Vice President of the <br /> i It,j1jj Chamber of Commerce Tourism Committee who thanked the council and <br /> the city for all their support. <br /> T1,t ', Councilman Overstreet said he had spoken at the South Everett Lions <br /> IS Club and they thought that when the area was annexed into the city, <br /> the statement was made that Fire Station f5 would remain at the same <br /> ' 'S" location and he had researched this but could find no rec.," of <br /> this. He said he had written to the person commenting on this but <br /> °t thought the council should know in case they were asked. <br /> He said also, he had attended the Labor Council meeting where <br /> Councilman Nova had been speaking on the bond issues and the Labor <br /> Council had approved the bond issues. Later they commented they <br /> i. would like to meet with the council about the bids and <br /> specification in connection with the proposed projects. He and <br /> Councilman Alva had said they would he glad to meet with a committee <br /> fr. the Labor Council on this. He said they were concerned, not <br /> just j with the City of Everett, hot with all cities, all'JJ municipalties, all governments in the bid process, that the <br /> sUCCeSsful Contract.did not meet all letters of the contract, all <br /> intent of the law. They were just trying to point out a concern <br /> they had and they just wanted to discuss this with public officials. <br /> r <br /> 4 <br />
