They
Terea%enthusiastic group of representatives from all the hotels,
ncludi g small motels, etc. as well as the city and the county.
One of the things that yes discussed was a bill that all of these
people are very much in support of which is going to be presented
this session. This is en increase in the hotel/motel to
and the
people at the meeting were the people who would add the room tax to
. their room prices at their hotels. They were so supportive of the ,
increase because they would like to see that money go into funding ' I
for a Visitor and Convention Bureau. So many times people want a
project but are not willing to support it and they were just the ,
Opposite. It would be a local option if it is passed and the city
mad have to allow it to occur but it would be taxing visitors, not
the local citizens.
A copy of the bill will be given to each councilmember and if the
Council approves, this should be added to the cities legislative
Package in Olympia to support the bill. she said Pat McClain is out
Of town, but she would talk 50th him about it.
ATTORNEY'S COAMENTS
1
:fn:t:°74'w=0 !: .Istlt::f ° '''" """i" ""'°° 1,
$1
,i
